Our Association will be holding its yearly conference for the sixth time on the 14th October 2021, in Budapest at the Radisson Blu Béke Hotel.
True to our mission, with this conference, we strive to stimulate the impact ecosystem, increasing the number of social impact investments in Hungary and its region.
Our main aim with this year’s conference – under the patronage of the president of Republic of Hungary, Mr. János Áder – is for the participants to gain an insight into the world of ESG funds and impact investments, their relationship, their similarities and differences and their impact and its possible measurement.
In the Plenary Meeting, among other speakers, we will have Cyrill Gouiffés, leader of Social Impact Investments at the European Investment Funds, speaking about the current impact investment situation in Europe, including the relationship between ESG and impact investment.
As part of the Plenary Meeting, we will be holding a panel discussion between two foreign venture capital firms, specialising on climate change and other environmental issues via their investments and their mentoring programmes for startups. In a panel discussion, the VCs will be confronted with an Asset Management company, highlighting the relationship between ESG and impact investment. How does ESG differ from impact investment, how do they correlate, when do they go hand in hand and how do they help each other out? How can ESGs remain credible, how can we avoid impact/greenwashing? How can we reach out to more and more investors to reach impact investment? Are ESGs a tool? During the panel discussion we strive to find answers to these questions and many more from actors of the financial world.
In the Breakout Sessions, we will be showing case studies for social enterprises with an impact, inviting not only the actors of the enterprises, but also their investors, this way showing both of their views in case of impact investment. Furthermore, in a breakout session, we will be showcasing the impact investment of a wealthy individual, as an act of merit, whilst in another session we will be dealing with the measurement of impact investment from the point of view of a private investor, VC, as well as a fund manager. Last, but not least, we will be inviting young start-up teams, representing the NextGen, giving them the possibility to introduce themselves, to tell us their story, emphasising their basic idea, their goals, their road until now and their plans for the future with their impact investment.
The plenary session of the event will be held in English, whilst in the Breakout Sessions one will have the opportunity to choose between Hungarian and English sessions.
